2016 Tannat Reserve Bodega Grazon winery From the land of gauchos, llamas, and alpacas comes this Uruguay red wine. The Tannant grape was introduced to Uruguay by European settlers and is their national grape. The country is a successful democracy that supports a substantial wine industry. The country offers many different wine drinks, including grappaniel. But the Tannant wine experience is a different from a sweetie. Because of its tannin, this is a blend of reds, supposedly of estate grown and hand-picked grapes. The color is deep red with solid legs. The winemaker sealed the bottle using a real cork. The nose is a fruity blackberry. First taste has raspberry and smoke. Later, there is more raspberry, plumb and sweet cherry. The blend makes its tannin interesting; the finish is a smooth mocha/oak tannin. This was a fun thing from Uruguay, but not to die for. Tannat is a drink now wine. Serve it with bizcohos and grilled beef.
